Technology Manager - Hybrid

Job Summary

The Technology Manager will guide IT and Operations services for BTCF. Working in collaboration with staff, our managed service provider, and consultants, the Technology Manager ensures that all internal technologies function well for the Foundation and evolve to meet operating, improvement and security needs. 

This role manages IT vendors, services and security; leads efforts to improve operational processes; and interacts with staff to improve technology utilization and satisfaction. The position provides and facilitates staff training on our hardware, online software platforms, databases, IT security and operating processes. BTCF will consider full or part-time candidates.

Essential Job Functions:

To include but not limited to:

1.           Technology Planning: 

     o       Develop and maintain a strategic technology plan that meets organizational needs. 

     o       Manage IT security risk and mitigation strategies and implement security improvements.

2.           Technology Management:

     o       Oversee the Foundation’s managed service provider (MSP), IT security, and other project vendors, ensuring quality support and staff satisfaction.   

     o       Manage software programs and provide training that meets staff needs.

     o       Coordinate hardware provisioning, training and support for staff.

                    -      Deploy and track existing and new equipment 

                    -      Purchase new equipment

                    -     Coordinate with the Foundation’s managed service provider to set up new laptops and fix hardware issues

                    -     Manage conference room technology and provide training, where necessary

     o      Lead technology onboarding and offboarding for employees.

     o       Provide on-site technical support to staff members if not available from our MSP.

3.           IT Security: 

o             Maintain, train and monitor compliance with the Foundation’s IT security policies 

o             Ensure external and internal IT security audits of the Foundation’s systems to ensure continued improvements in IT security.

4.           IT Project Management:

     o       Coordinate software project additions or improvements by organizing research, gathering requirements, evaluating options, training and adoption. 

                     -     Update Foundant product pages seen by BTCF constituents 

                     -     Implement e-signature solution to simplify grants, contract, fund and other document management for grants, scholarships, fund agreements, vendors and other Foundation documents.

5.           Process Improvements:

     o      Develop and implement an annual schedule of process improvements in collaboration with staff members and the Management Team 

     o      Guide and facilitate process improvements as requested by staff teams or management. Support development of process procedures or checklists.

6.           Training

     o        Develop and provide IT staff training programs that build skills and respond to staff requests. 

     o        Provide or facilitate training to staff that support processing and operating activities.
 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience 

  • B.A./B.S. degree preferred
  • Experience managing software and data improvement products
  • Experience providing training to end users and managing training programs

Skills and Attributes

  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and database management systems
  • Demonstrable understanding of technical IT topics, and ability to coordinate and communicate projects among staff and various IT service providers
  • Project management skills to guide projects and staff efforts to timely and successful conclusions 
  • Proven ability to research, introduce and implement modern software tools such as Teams, Power Automate and other apps that can increase productivity and staff satisfaction with our grantmaking, financial processing, development and donor service work

Compensation and Benefitis:

This position is salaried exempt, with an expected starting range of $85,000-90,000, commensurate with experience.
