Philanthropy as a Force for change

Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation is guided by a vision for all residents to have the opportunity for economic mobility and a high quality of life. Since 2018, BTCF has been expanding the role of philanthropy as a force for change by identifying the highest priority issues in our region and addressing their root causes.

Based on our in-depth community assessments, we focus on three issues where philanthropy can make a difference in our four-county region: educational attainment, community engagement, and economic opportunity. We connect donors and nonprofits with deep local knowledge working in these priority areas to make a positive, lasting impact.

What We Do

  • Learn by convening groups and conducting rigorous assessments and evaluations.
  • Connect donors and nonprofits with deep local knowledge in each issue area.
  • Cultivate equity as a guiding principle in each of our three strategic priorities.
  • Partner with community leaders across sectors to seize opportunities for growth and address inequities
