GRANT GUIDELINES
WHO CAN APPLY
Students of Housatonic Valley Regional High School (Connecticut), Webutuck High School (New York) and Monument Mountain Regional High School (Massachusetts) who have a demonstrated interest and passion for holistic, health and wellness practices.
GRANT INFORMATION
Karen believed that compassion is the only true source of power and was deeply committed to promoting the skills and traits of mindfulness that become part of living ethically, compassionately and healthfully.
The Karen Kisslinger Fund is a unique charitable resource established by Karen’s family to continue her legacy of health in body, mind, spirit and community. Karen was a healer, teacher, writer and artist who had a broad impact on her community.
Grants will provide support for students participating in out of school time programs that align with the Kisslinger Fund’s mission. These activities may include but not be limited to:
- Yoga classes/yoga teacher training
- Mindfulness and Meditation
- Holistic and Integrative health
- Spirituality, health and healing
- Complementary and integrative health
- Sustainable food and farming courses

AWARDS
Generally the awards will be from $200 to $800. Payments will be made directly to the organization or vendor. Recipients will be required to complete a grant report about their experiences.
REVIEW CRITERIA
Applications will be reviewed using the following criteria:
- The quality of the program that you have chosen.
- The potential impact of the program on your life and studies/work.
- Evidence of your ambition to pursue your studies/work through engagement in this enrichment program.
Applications will be reviewed by members of the Karen Kisslinger Fund Committee. Their recommendations will be reviewed by Berkshire Taconic’s board of directors.
