WHO CAN APPLY

Students, teachers, staff, administrators of Monument Mountain Regional High School for programs, projects and initiatives that enrich and expand the educational offerings provided by Monument Mountain Regional High School.

GRANT INFORMATION

School Center, Inc. operated for many years to raise funds for and support projects that benefited Monument Mountain Regional High School. In 2021, as the organization ceased operation and its assets were used to establish an endowment that will carry out the mission of School Center, Inc. in perpetuity.

ELIGIBILITY

The funding priority is to encourage innovation and demonstrate benefit to the school community as a whole. Students, staff, teachers and administrators at Monument Mountain Regional High School are eligible to apply.  Funding requests must not supplant the Berkshire Hills Regional School District’s financial obligation to core curriculum and offerings.

Berkshire Taconic does not support organizations that in their constitution, by-laws, or practice, discriminate against a person or group on the basis of age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, political affiliation or religious belief.

AWARDS

Grants awarded will generally range from up to $3,000. Larger awards may be considered if funds are available. Projects are competing for limited funding. Applicants are encouraged to seek support from other sources.

REVIEW CRITERIA

Applications will be reviewed using the following criteria:

  • Excellence: Is the project or service truly of a high quality? Is it the right time for the project? Does it involve qualified individuals/groups?
  • Impact: What is the potential impact of the project or service on student learning and the community? That includes both the number of students involved and the quality of the experience
  • Ability: Is the project well thought out, feasible and is it likely to be successfully completed?

A letter of recommendation from the Monument Mountain Regional High School principal must accompany all applications. Applications will be reviewed by a committee comprised of community members, parents, teachers, students, the superintendent and the school community. The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation Board of Directors will review committee recommendations.
