Local Impact

The Quailwood Fund was established in 2005 through the estate of Jonathan Schor, a resident of the hamlet of Red Rock for 30 years. It helps to preserve the history and protect the community Jon dearly loved. According to his wishes, the fund's committee members are the presidents of the Red Rock Volunteer Fire Company, Red Rock Historical Society and Canaan Conservation Club, and the executive director of the Columbia Land Conservancy.

Grantmaking focuses on public services, conservation work, public recreation facilities, fire and rescue facilities and educational scholarships. The Quailwood Fund has four grant programs: the Quailwood General Fund, Quailwood Scholarship Fund for Students, Quailwood Scholarship Fund for Adult Students and Red Rock Emergency Relief Fund.
