The fund’s mission is to preserve and encourage small, community-based agricultural ventures, which might include, but are not limited to: community-supported agriculture; local farmers’ markets; urban garden programs; agricultural scholarships; cooperative programming; internships; grant writing; and marketing.

James C. Kapteyn Endowment Fund

All Counties, Individuals

Principals and Heads of School may nominate an outstanding educator who meets the vision of the fund. The primary mission of the fund is to recognize and support educators, who offer extraordinary gifts to their students, and promote teaching excellence in the secondary schools within the Berkshire Taconic community.

Berkshire Environmental Endowment

Nonprofits

The BEE Fund supports nonprofit organizations, public agencies, schools or civic community entities for projects focused on water quality and related land issues. Grants currently focus on grassroots organizations with preference for water-related educational projects that will engage Berkshire County youth.

Crane Family Fund

The Crane Family Fund was established at Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation in 2008. The fund’s mission is to support projects that demonstrate innovation in the intersection of environmental quality and community health and well-being.

Planning and Technical Assistance Grant Program

Columbia County

Note: For Columbia County organizations seeking funding for Planning and Technical Assistance (PTA), we invite you to apply for General Operating Support instead, as PTA grants, along with the School to Work and Grants for Community Impact, will no longer be offered.

Supports the communities of Amenia, Clinton Corners, Dover Plains, Millbrook, Millerton, North East, Pine Plains, Stanford, Washington, Wassaic, and Wingdale.

NEW as of 2026: Organizations based in northeast Dutchess County seeking support for Planning and Technical Assistance (PTA) are invited to apply for General Operating Support through Northeast Dutchess Fund’s primary grant cycle. These grants may be used for the same purposes as PTA grants, while offering greater flexibility to meet organizational priorities.

2026-27 Scholarships

Berkshire Taconic provides a single streamlined application for over 80 scholarship programs with a March 15 deadline. Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as additional steps may follow the initial submission. Scholarship awards will be announced in June.
