Berkshire Inspired Educational Fund was inspired by past efforts of Berkshire residents to support educational aspirations of members of our community such as W.E.B. DuBois. This was a great community commitment in the late 19th century and we should strive to continue this local tradition. The mission of the Berkshire Inspired Educational Fund is to provide financial assistance for BIPOC or economically disadvantaged students from Berkshire County, MA who experience emergency financial need for the cost of college or university attendance, which threatens matriculation and/or degree completion. Cost of attendance may include, but is not limited to, the purchase of books and educational supplies/equipment; food; childcare; transportation to and from school; and family emergencies.
