SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
George and Lucille Buterbaugh came to the Town of Salisbury in 1965 and lived there for over thirty years until their deaths in 2002 and 2004, respectively. George served in World War II as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy. He then worked as an architect in New York City before retiring to Salisbury. Lucille was a cosmetologist and proprietor of her own salon business on Madison Avenue. Having a deep love of their adopted home town, they were involved in many community organizations including the Holley House Museum, Salisbury Congregational Church and the Salisbury Garden Club. The George and Lucille Buterbaugh Fund was established by the Buterbaughs in 1993 to provide scholarship support to residents of the Town of Salisbury with financial need.
