SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

The James E. “Jamie” Bugley Scholarship Fund (The Jamie Fund) was established in memory of the late Jamie Bugley, who died suddenly on March 31, 2010 at his home in Stockbridge, Mass. Jamie grew up in the village of Interlaken in Stockbridge. He pitched for the Interlaken Indians Little League team, and enjoyed his membership in the local Cub Scout pack. He earned spending money mowing lawns and doing chores for his neighbors. When he reached his teen years, Jamie's gift for music blossomed. He became an accomplished percussionist and vocalist, playing first in the school music programs and then forming his own band. Later he played and sang in local bands "Wishful Thinking" and "Balance," performing in venues throughout Berkshire County and in neighboring New York and Connecticut.

Jamie graduated from Monument Mountain Regional High School in Great Barrington in 1987, and from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY, with honors in 1992. He was a full partner in and co-owner of Interlaken Land Management, where his talents for project planning and operating and maintaining machinery were put to good use. A perfectionist, Jamie's work was neat, professional, and always done to his high standards of quality. His work ethic was exceptional, and he always delivered what he promised, on time.

Jamie's sense of humor and quick wit endeared him to his friends and family. He could always bring a smile to the faces of those around him. Jamie loved the outdoors and said that the fields and woods and skies of the Berkshires were his office.
