Graduating Seniors of Webutuck High School.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Please apply online and follow the prompts to the application for the VHSSF Scholarship. Be sure that you check the box indicating you and your parents’ permission for the Guidance Office at Webutuck High School to share pertinent information from your transcript with us.

ELIGIBILITY

We look for evidence of academic achievement, community involvement, intellectual curiosity and seriousness of purpose. Give special and independent thought to the essay; it is a significant factor in the Trustees' selection of the finalists and the ultimate winners.

AWARDS

A college education is a big and important investment. With that in mind, the Violet H. Simmons Scholarship Fund invites all Webutuck seniors to apply for a college scholarship which will not exceed $18,000. The scholarship will be divided into equal installments and cover up to four years of undergraduate education.

REVIEW CRITERIA

The applications will be reviewed by the Trustees of the Scholarship Fund and finalists will be selected to be interviewed. After those interviews, final selections will be made. In the event they determine that no qualified applicant has applied, the trustees reserve the right to divide some or all of this year's scholarship awards among current or future scholarship recipients.

The Board of Trustees also administers the Barbara Thorlichen Riefle Summer Enrichment Scholarship for Webutuck graduates who are in college. One need not have applied for a Simmons Scholarship to be eligible for the summer program. Be sure to contact us for details after you’ve completed your first year of college.
