Most recently, she spent six years at the Santa Barbara County Education Office, where she helped operate a mentor-based program for new teachers. A highlight of Aileen’s career was opening her own eco-minded art gallery in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, using art to start conversations and to bring understanding around important environmental issues. She holds two undergraduate degrees, one in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and one in Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography. She lives near her sister and parents in Pine Plains, New York, where she enjoys the outdoors, yoga, community theater and local excursions.
