Deborah Lans has built a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in complex commercial and marital litigation. A founding partner of Morrison Cohen LLP in 1984, she led the firm’s Commercial Litigation Department for 15 years before becoming executive director of Mentoring USA, a youth-serving nonprofit. She later co-founded Cohen Clair Lans Greifer & Simpson LLP, where she continues to focus on mediation, arbitration, and litigation. Recognized as an AV Preeminent-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, Deborah has served on numerous legal and judicial committees. She has also been deeply involved in community service, including leadership roles with Columbia Memorial Health, PS 21, Columbia Land Conservancy, and Literacy, Inc. A published writer and legal educator, she has contributed to professional journals and co-authored legal publications. She is currently a contributor to The Columbia Paper. Deborah resides in Austerlitz, N.Y.
