Director of People and Culture
Nicole Kappes-Levine joined BCTF in March 2025 as the Director of People and Culture, bringing a deep commitment to social justice and over 16 years of experience in organizational leadership, education, and human resources. She began her career in the nonprofit sector, working on youth empowerment and community-based organizing initiatives before moving into public education, where she led efforts to create more inclusive and equitable systems. As a district administrator of school counseling programs, and a Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, she championed efforts around culturally responsive education, restorative practices and school climate improvements. Nicole is passionate about building strong, equity-driven teams and fostering environments where people can thrive. She holds a Master of Education from Lewis & Clark College and a Bachelor of Arts from Hampshire College. She loves history, paddleboarding, and exploring the Hudson Valley, where she lives with her wife and three children.
