Valery Galasso

Valery Galasso is an accomplished public‑policy leader with expertise in telecommunications, technology, and civic engagement. She currently serves as Chief of Public Policy for the New York State Department of Public Service’s Office of Telecommunications, where she leads statewide broadband and telecommunications initiatives and directed the first‑in‑the‑nation address‑level broadband mapping project. Her work also contributed to a favorable U.S. Supreme Court ruling enabling New York to require affordable broadband for low‑income households. Previously, Valery served in senior roles at Participant, StoryCorps, the Office of Governor Andrew Cuomo, the FCC, and the White House, shaping policy in technology, education, and media while managing large teams and multimillion‑dollar initiatives. She holds an M.A. in Public Policy from Johns Hopkins University and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and is fluent in Italian. Valery resides in Amenia, New York.
