Yvette “Jamuna” Sirker, MFA, is a playwright, director, producer, and veteran educator whose work explores social justice, resilience, and community storytelling. Her plays have been produced Off‑Broadway, Off‑Off‑Broadway, and at regional theaters and universities nationwide, earning honors such as MultiStages Theater Company’s New Works Award and a Louisiana Division of the Arts Playwriting Fellowship. Her artistic contributions span new play development, movement‑based storytelling, and collaborations with organizations such as WAM Theatre, Berkshire Fringe, Jacob’s Pillow Community Works, and numerous academic institutions. Alongside her artistic career, Jamuna is a long‑standing leader in arts‑integrated education. She currently serves as District Coordinator for Pittsfield Public Schools’ 21st Century Community Learning Centers, overseeing major grants, community cultural partnerships, and programming designed to expand equitable access to the arts for diverse student populations. Her work has been supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, and other cultural funders. Jamuna resides in East Otis, Massachusetts.
