Can you share an overview of your role at BTCF?

My role at BTCF is to bring together finance, investments and administrative staff and volunteers to produce high quality financial results, services and information for the people and communities we serve. We manage hundreds of thousands of accounting and investment transactions each year and administer over 550 charitable fund relationships. The work is both simple and complex- simple as we are guided by our values and charitable fund relationships and complex as we cultivate relationships, processes and systems that work better for the fund holders, nonprofits and people we serve.

What is special and unique about the programs and people you work with in the community?

Working at a Community Foundation puts you contact with many caring people. Whether they are donors, staff, or nonprofit organizations, they are looking to make things better. The Foundation’s Equity Fund, now in its second year, is a good example. By bringing together leaders of color, individual donors and grant applicants, the fund expands access to resources for communities of color and trusts them as the experts to make improvements relevant to their community.

In your time with BTCF, is there a memory or accomplishment that is especially meaningful to you?

What I most enjoy at BTCF is learning and growing with my colleagues. We build stronger communities when we hear and support each other.

What is your favorite local place to visit?

My favorite place to visit is in Ashley Falls. I jog past Twin Rivers Farm, Bartholomew's Cobble, and the Ashley House, and watch for turtles and Great Blue herons. It is so peaceful.
