Green Pastures Fund

The fund’s mission is to preserve and encourage small, community-based agricultural ventures, which might include, but are not limited to: community-supported agriculture; local farmers’ markets; urban garden programs; agricultural scholarships; cooperative programming; internships; grant writing; and marketing.

James C. Kapteyn Endowment Fund

All Counties, Individuals

Principals and Heads of School may nominate an outstanding educator who meets the vision of the fund. The primary mission of the fund is to recognize and support educators, who offer extraordinary gifts to their students, and promote teaching excellence in the secondary schools within the Berkshire Taconic community.

Planning and Technical Assistance Grant Program

All Counties, Nonprofits

This grant provides flexible funding to allow an organization to seize an opportunity to refine their strategy, invest in board development, and evaluate and refine program delivery at a time when their missions are needed most by the communities they serve. We particularly seek projects that strengthen the governance and diversity of smaller nonprofit boards.

 

 

Berkshire County

Berkshire Environmental Endowment

The BEE Fund supports nonprofit organizations, public agencies, schools or civic community entities for projects focused on water quality and related land issues. Grants currently focus on grassroots organizations with preference for water-related educational projects that will engage Berkshire County youth.

Crane Family Fund

The Crane Family Fund was established at Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation in 2008. The fund’s mission is to support projects that demonstrate innovation in the intersection of environmental quality and community health and well-being.

 

Columbia County

Fund for Columbia County: Grants for Community Impact

Nonprofits, Schools, Civic Entities

For projects that further youth development, elder services, health and social services, economic equity, civic and community engagement, education, and arts and cultural programming that focuses on community engagement among residents of Columbia County.

Fund for Columbia County: School-to-Work Grants

Nonprofits, Schools, Civic Entities

For innovative projects and services that support high school and college-age youth in making a successful transition from school to work.

Fresh and Healthy Food for All in Columbia County

Nonprofits

Supports organizations that work to ensure all people in Columbia County, especially households with limited resources, have access to fresh and healthy food. This includes providing immediate access to healthy food for the food insecure while simultaneously transforming the food system to increase long-term access for everyone in Columbia County. 

Quailwood Fund

Red Rock, N.Y., Nonprofits

Provides community support in the Red Rock, Columbia County, New York area for public services and improvement of the quality of life, for conservation work, public recreation facilities, fire and rescue facilities and educational scholarships.

 

Northeast Dutchess County

Northeast Dutchess Fund

The fund seeks to support new or existing projects, programs or organizations that have a meaningful and positive impact on the residents of northeast Dutchess County, with particular emphasis on low income and/or underserved adults and children. The communities of Amenia, Clinton Corners, Dover Plains, Millbrook, Millerton, North East, Pine Plains, Stanford, Washington, Wassaic and Wingdale.

 

Northwest Litchfield County

Madeleine B. Wildes Fund

Town of Salisbury, Nonprofits

This fund supports projects that provide assistance to “persons residing in Salisbury/Lakeville, who, through sickness, misfortune, or lack of opportunity, and despite their own best efforts to support themselves and maintain their independence are in need of financial assistance for any purpose which is thought suitable.”

 

2025-26 Scholarships

Scholarship applications open on January 1, 2025. The submission deadline is March 15! Scholarship awards will be announced in June. Stay tuned for more updates.
