Our Work, Our People: Lisa Ovitt

Lisa Ovitt is Berkshire Taconic's Finance Associate

Lisa in Great Salt Lake State Park, Utah.

Can you share an overview of your role at BTCF?

As finance associate, I touch every department at BTCF in some way. On any given day, you’ll find me printing weekly grant checks for Programs, making deposits for Philanthropy, paying bills for Communications, or working on a finance-related project with IT. I’m grateful to work closely with so many colleagues across this organization.

What brought you to BTCF?

Joining Berkshire Taconic in 2023 felt like the right fit. I’ve always loved math and accounting, so this role feels like it was made for me. From the start, I felt at home here, and it has become one of my favorite roles in my career.

What is your favorite local place to visit?

I didn’t grow up in the Berkshires, but I’ve lived here with my (now) husband, Michael, since graduating from college in 1989. We raised our two children in Sheffield, and it has been a wonderful place to call home.

Now our 2 ½ year old granddaughter, Amelia, who lives nearby in Pittsfield brings even more joy to our lives. There’s so much to enjoy in the Berkshires that it’s hard to choose just one favorite place. I love going to Tanglewood in the summer, visiting Naumkeag for the tulip festival and holiday events, and exploring Bartholomew’s Cobble right up my road, especially the hike up Hurlburt Hill and the peaceful trails nearby. The Mount is another special place that I try to visit at least once a year, and I also enjoy seeing a play or two at one of our local theaters. One of the things I value most about working at Berkshire Taconic is seeing how community support and grantmaking help keep these special places thriving for everyone to enjoy.
